Benefit

Thiamine (B1)

10 mg

Thiamine is an essential B vitamin that works as a coenzyme in the breakdown of sugars and protein. It is used in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitters and is important for the function of the heart, muscles, and gastrointestinal system.  Low thiamine is associated with primarily neurologic function but supplementation may help Alzheimer’s sufferers.

Riboflavin (B2)

10 mg

Riboflavin is another B vitamin that works as a cofactor in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and other B vitamins. Riboflavin helps to decrease inflammation in blood vessels and may help with migraine headaches.  Low riboflavin may cause inflammation of the skin, eyes, and mucosal tissue, such as the lining of the mouth.

Niacin (B3)

30

mg NE

Niacin is an essential B vitamin that will increase the level of HDL (good cholesterol), lower LDL (bad cholesterol), and can lower the risk for cardiovascular events. It works as an anti-inflammatory in blood vessels and helps to metabolize fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and alcohol.

Pantothenic Acid (B5)

25 mg

B5 is an essential vitamin that is used to synthesize co-enzyme A (CoA).  Co-enzyme A is required by the body to create energy from food as well as to synthesize hormones and neurotransmitters, which work as signals within nerves.

Pyridoxine (B6)

10 mg

B6 helps balance sodium and potassium, promote red cell formation, decrease inflammation in blood vessels, support immune function, and help balance hormonal changes in women.  Low pyridoxine can cause anemia, irritability, depression, and skin problems.

Biotin (B7)

400 mcg

Biotin works with the enzymes responsible for the synthesis of fatty acids, some amino acids, and gluconeogenisis (glucose production). Biotin also helps with hair and nail growth.  Low biotin (rare) causes dermatitis and hair loss.

Folate (B9)

666.6 mcg DFE

Folate is an essential vitamin that helps with production and repair of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) as well as red blood cell formation.  Low folate can result in limb weakness and numbness, anemia, and cognitive loss. Folate may also decrease heart disease and stroke risk by working with B12 and B6 to decrease homocysteine concentrations in the blood.

Vitamin (B12)

75 mcg

Vitamin B12 is another B vitamin that helps reduce inflammation in the body by decreasing blood levels of an amino acid called homocysteine. Vitamin B12 assists with the function of the brain and nervous system as well as DNA and fatty acid (energy) synthesis. It is also used to treat Alzheimer’s and brain atrophy in the elderly.  B12 is essential for the preservation of the sheath surrounding nerves. Inflammation within the intestines, such as with Crohns disease and inflammatory bowel disease, may cause a deficiency.

Choline

100 mg

Choline is an essential nutrient. It is grouped with B vitamin complexes needed for cell structural integrity, neurotransmission, and the movement of fat within the bloodstream and the liver.  Choline may help with some forms of dementia as well as with cardiovascular disease.

Vitamin C

500 mg

Vitamin C is an essential nutrient and works as a cofactor in at least 8 enzymes, such as the enzymes that manufacture collagen, which is the primary structural protein in skin and connective tissue for tendons, cartilage, and bone. Vitamin C is an extremely strong antioxidant, is important in immune function, and may work as an antihistamine. High doses of vitamin C helps in the prevention of gout and can decrease the duration of the common cold.

Vitamin D

50

mcg (2000 IU)

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin.  Its main function is associated with the regulation of calcium, which is important for bone health, and it also helps with immune function. Low levels of Vitamin D may be associated with multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia in addition to some infectious diseases.

Vitamin E

22 mg (30 IU)

Vitamin E is another fat-soluble vitamin that serves as a potent antioxidant that also helps with neurologic function and enzyme activities. Low levels are associated with nerve and muscle problems as well as retinal problems.

Calcium

200 mg

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the body. It is an essential element used as a signal in many cellular processes, such as muscle contraction, nerve impulses, and hormone secretion (insulin).  Calcium is also the primary material in bones and teeth. Low calcium may affect bone density and heart function.

Magnesium

100 mg

Magnesium is essential to all living cells and works with hundreds of enzymes.  It plays an important role in energy production and in DNA and RNA (ribonucleic acid) synthesis. Low levels have been documented in diabetes (type 2) and hypertension patients.

Manganese

2 mg

Manganese is an essential trace mineral nutrient and part of many enzymes. Manganese is the central component of manganese superoxide dismutase, which is the primary antioxidant enzyme in the body.  Some of the other enzymes manganese is vital to play critical roles in glucose production, liver detoxification, and wound healing.

Potassium

99 mg

Potassium is an essential macronutrient. It is important in neuron function and fluid balance within the body.  Although potassium is tightly regulated in the body, a higher potassium intake may decrease osteoporosis and possibly stroke risk.

Zinc

15 mg

Zinc is another essential mineral.  It is an antioxidant and is needed in many of the enzymes the body uses for biochemical reactions.  Zinc also performs an important role in immune function. Low zinc may play a part in major depressive disorders, age related eye disease, skin lesions, hair loss, and chronic diarrheas.

Coenzyme Q10

30 mg

Coenzyme Q10, also known as Co-Q10, is an enzyme that has a major role in energy production in most active muscles and organs, such as the heart, kidney, and the liver. Co-Q10 is a powerful antioxidant. Low levels of it are found in people with congestive heart failure and fibromyalgia. There is positive research that shows Co-Q10 helps fibromyalgia sufferers.
